Our work follows this path, by proposing an infrastructure that facilitates and automates component deployment in distributed environments. However, this paper is different from the previous work in component deployment in that it specifically addresses the problem of efficiently expressing dependencies of portable J2EE application components and connectors on services provided by the middleware. We are working strictly within the constraints imposed by the J2EE programming model and do not propose extensions to the J2EE specification.
